| Bio: | THE RULES of the GygesBlog It is INTENDED: - for the free and open expression of personal views on the issues of the philosophy of life (MAINLY), culture (or lack of thereof), economy and economics, policy and politics, science and technology, and all other topics that the Author and other Participants may come in contact with in real life; - to facilitate the communication and understanding between the individuals with similar and/or dissimilar core values. It is NOT INTENDED to be: - a resource for universal solutions in seemingly similar real life situations; - a soapbox for posting inflammatory comments; bashing; racial, ethnic, religious, gender, or any other type of hatred. LANGUAGE RULES: The official language of this blog is English. Contributions in other languages are acceptable when essential for conveying the point of view. Use of profanity, derogatory or obscene language, which can be interpreted as insulting, rude or vulgar, or desecrating or showing disrespect toward an object of religious veneration is explicitly prohibited. COMMON DECENCY RULES: All Participants in this blog should treat each other with respect. What gets written on the Internet is often misinterpreted by others, Read what you write carefully before posting. A little bit of kindness goes a long way... AMENDMENTS: For the lack of another example, and to establish the precedent that the RULES are not set in stone, these were in part borrowed and modified from the Bill of Rights, also known as the first ten Amendments to the US Constitution. Additional Amendments may be introduced over the lifetime of this forum, initiated by the Author or the Participants. FIRST AMENDMENT The Author and Participants make no rule respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech. With respect to the latter, the Author and Participants recognize that considerate (and abbreviated) use of - dysphemistic swearing (that forces listener to think about negative thing); - idiomatic swearing (without really referring to the thing to arouse interest, and express to peers that the setting is informal); - emphatic swearing (to emphasize something with swearing); - cathartic swearing (meant to tell the audience that you're undergoing a negative emotion) may be essential for the purposes of free and effective discussion. Differences in cultural, linguistic and historical backgrounds place the emphasis of the profanities in different languages on different subject matter, and these must be taken into account. SECOND AMENDMENT The Author and Participants recognize "the right to bear arms" in reference to the concept that the Participants and/or the Author have a right to self defense. Therefore, the entries that do not adhere to the Rules will be removed at the discretion of the Author, or following the complaints of other Participants. THIRD AMENDMENT There is no Third Amendment in this blog as of yet. The space is reserved only to maintain the enumeration of other Amendments in parallel with the known to everybody Freedoms of the Bill of Rights. FOURTH AMENDMENT The Author and Participants recognize the premise that everyone is entitled to a reasonable right to privacy. The Author and the Participants should take a reasonable precaution to scramble certain details of actual events described in their entries to protect their identity and privacy COPYRIGHT AND OWNERSHIP: All third party-content (quotes, etc.) must be properly referenced, to protect the original copyright ownership.
